Product Management Operations Lead

Seminis has an opening in St. Louis, Missouri for an
Operations Lead for our Global Product Management team.
Responsibilities:
•
Portfolio Management:
-
Lead the development of
the new product advancement and portfolio management
processes, including process and tool automation and
product pipeline database creation and maintenance.
-
Direct operational aspects
of product advancement. Ensure procedural
compliance/discipline and appropriate follow-up
communications on all advancement decisions. Conduct
operational follow-up in COVAR and with the Material
Master as a result of product advancements.

Assist Global Product
Managers (GPMs) in portfolio management through data
analysis and operational process management.
-
Ensure process of regular
communication with GPMs/RPMs to identify unmet
data/analysis needs. Interface with IT to develop
user-friendly tools and reporting systems.

Oversee creation and
distribution of reports on a monthly and quarterly basis
and as needed that analyze crop product portfolio. These
reports may include, but are not limited to: Regional
pipeline snapshots, market segment dashboards, SSBS/SSTS
templates (targets), inventory reports, variety sales
analysis, etc.

Direct the creation of
custom reports as necessary to support GPMs/RPMs in
advancement, budget, production planning, LRP and other
key processes.

STI/DVC/Biotech Trait Pipelines:
-
Project coordination of
key pre-commercial trait projects for Seminis Vegetable
Seeds across crop families.

Create process and tools
that enable project plan development and tracking key
milestones.

Assist in prioritization
and valuation of trait projects, including
recommendations for resourcing.
-
Coordinate efforts and
information among functional areas including Breeding,
Technology Development, Global and Regional Product
Managers, Regulatory, Finance and Marketing.

Lead annual review process
to obtain organizational buy-in on project investments.
• Process
Coordination:
-
Coordinate the annual
updating of YMIT market date base.

In conjunction with
finance coordinate the annual LRP exercise.
-
Build team calendar with a
focus toward setting priorities and supporting GPMs for
key activities - product advancement, portfolio
management, STI/DVC projects, LRP, budget, YMIT update,
production planning, and other key processes.
• People
Management:
Requirements:
-
BS in Agriculture, Business,
Marketing or a related field.
-
5 years of experience in seed
business.
-
Strong project management
skills and results orientation.
-
Experience and skill in
database creation & management.
-
Seed portfolio management
experience a plus.
-
Familiarity with trait
projects in other crops a plus.
-
Ability to successfully
interact with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
-
Strong team-based experience
and skills.
